The Best of 3 Series to determine a new PROGRESS Women's Champion began this past weekend when Kanji took on Gisele Shaw in the main event of Chapter 109: Dreaming In 3D.
NXT UK Superstar Jinny, former PROGRESS Women’s Champion, offered her thoughts on the Championship ahead of the second match of the series:
“PROGRESS gave me my start in wrestling. It allowed me to make my dream a reality. There wasn't a Women's Championship when I started" Jinny noted.
"From having the first women's match on a Chapter show and proving we need a Championship for the women of PROGRESS, to becoming a two-time PROGRESS Wrestling Women's Champion, makes the title that much more special to me.”
Kanji heads into the second match of the series as the favourite after going 1-0. Gisele Shaw now has dig deep to get the equalizer and ensure we go to a rubber match.
Gisele Shaw is facing an uphill battle, as she is now 0-3 since the return of PROGRESS.
